Braintree Payments

  • Whenever LGA needs to take a payment from an account on prepaid terms (excluding LGA web orders), with their card on file, or handling special orders for customers on the phone, we use Braintree to take Credit Card payments.
  • Once you log into Braintree, you may search for the customer on file in the search bar to create a new transaction, or simply click 'Create New Transaction
  • This will pull up a New Transaction tab, where we will input the following information:
    • Transaction Information
      • Amount- Total amount due for order; which usually is the total cost, and shipping charges if applicable.
      • Purchase Order Number- Either the customer/reseller specified PO#, or the one we create if we are doing a special order.
      • Order ID- Another form of PO#; I usually add our Acctivate Sales Order # here.
    • Customer
      • First Name
      • Last Name
      • Company- if applicable
      • Email Address
      • Phone #
    • Payment Information
      • Cardholder Name- Usually first and last name, and a middle initial if the card specifies.
      • Credit Card #
      • Expiration Date (MM/YYYY)
      • Card Verification Value (CVV)- this is the 3-digit code for most Credit Cards (American Express has their unique CC# and CVV, but we process it the same in BT)
    • Billing Address
      • First Name
      • Last Name
      • Company- If applicable
      • Street Address- Lot number, and street name
      • Extended Address- Usually for Unit/APT #s
      • City
      • State- spell the State name in full
      • Postal Code
      • Country Name
    • Shipping Address
      • This will be the same info to input as Billing; ALWAYS double-check your addresses!
  • Then, you will click 'Create Transaction' and it will pop up a new tab with the receipt. I print the receipt to keep tabs on my order process.
    • All payments that are successful will declare the transaction as 'Submitted for Settlement'
    • Unsuccessful transactions will say 'Declined'
